Target Beneficiaries and How We Help Them
The aim of the Good angel system is to provide families, in which a member has come down with a serious illness, with regular monthly financial assistance in the amount of several thousand Czech crowns. In this way, we make it possible for donors – Good angels – to increase the monthly income of families with children facing financial distress due to serious illness by an average of 20%.
- Contributions from Good angels are re-distributed each month down to the very last cent®. The operating expenses of the endowment fund are financed out of the private funds of the founders.
- Each Good angel is provided with access to their Angel account, where they can clearly see who their contribution has helped.
- Good angels make a monthly contribution in an amount of their choosing.
We believe that even monthly assistance of just few thousands of CZK can help bridge the period of financial distress often experienced by families with children soon after the onset of an oncological or other serious illness. In addition to immense stress and pain, such period also entails increased expenses, while the family income declines substantially.
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TARGETS
Good angel helps families facing financial distress as a result of illness. Our assistance covers the illnesses listed in the table below. The patient must be a parent who takes care of at least one dependent child, or a dependent child.

*) In the event of permanent health consequences or the necessity for complex long-term therapy, an extension may be granted, provided that a disability annuity has not been granted to the child at 18 and a half years of age or older.
**) If complications arise in connection with the process of being awarded a disability annuity or with the amount thereof, an extension can be granted up until the child reaches 26 years of age.
***) In the event of permanent health consequences or the necessity for complex long-term therapy, an extension may be granted.
For all types of diseases, the patient is treated in a medical facility in the Czech Republic or abroad for a maximum of 1 year, if the treatment is recommended by a doctor and is unavailable in the Czech Republic. In the case of foreign families, it is necessary to provide proof of residence in the Czech Republic for at least 6 months before submitting the application and the reason for the stay. An exception to the length of stay may be granted to families with valid refugee visas, but only for a period of 6 months. Financial support is especially intended for families in which a parent has had to reduce or terminate his/her work or business, the family has increased expenses not covered by public health insurance or income and donations from other non-profit organizations, the state, etc.
